‘96 Viper RT-10:
0-60 in 4.5
‘06 Z06: 0-60 mph 3.4
‘05 Elise: It’s not about the 0-60.
‘15 Evo X: Because 2WD is sooooo USDM.

Gotta disclose bikes, because for $30k you could probably exceed 200mph and go 0-60 in the sub-2.5s.
If only EssExTee could be so grossly incandescent

$30k will buy a hell of a lot of speed, but you’d have to find someone who even has that much to sell and that would be risky.

3 brand new Mirages, or if you’re in Canada, 3 Micras
The highest speed limit in NJ is 65 mph, and there are plenty of new and used cars capable of sustaining 65 mph :o)

20k so you have 10k left over for add ons. Stock 5 second 0-60 so plenty of room to work with

R129 SL600. You can spend $15k and have $15k left over to fix it after a speed run.
Its very heavily disputed, but the butt dyno doesnt lie. Ive been in some stupid fast cars before, the SL600 was rated for a 4.6 0-60, but Car and Driver pulled a 3.6 for one of their tests. I wouldnt do it to my car at 116k miles, but if you were to hop into a well maintained one and thrash on it, you wouldnt be disappointed.

Straight line acceleration on four wheels?
Probably an ebay turbo van LS2 motor swap into a 90s Camaro or firebird, with the rest going toward sticky rubber and a nitrous bottle. You won’t win any 0-60 contests, but you’ll sure as hell win any 60-180.
You just won’t be able to do it safely, or more than a few times.

But the Lotus Elise still has a fast 0-60.
Under 30K? I think we need to up the challenge and go for under 25K after taxes. >:)
